Anyone know Japanese?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here spoke Japanese. I have started studying Japanese recently and really wanted to try putting together a few sentences. Well.. I put them together, but the problem is I have no one who can tell me if they are at all understandable... and While I did throw them in the Google translator , it can't really give me feedback. Anyway here it is, with my own translation of what I believe it to say.

はじめまして. わたしはアメリカのキヤです. わたしはにほんごをれんしゅうがすきでしょう.しかし,わたしはかんじをがわかりますせん.

Nice to meat you, I am Kiya of America. I would like to practice my Japanese. However, I do not understand Kanji.

Anyway am i doing OK? That is, for having self taught for about a month.
