In need of a little encouragement today

I've been on MFP for close to 11 months now. I lost 11 lbs and then gained almost all of it back throughout the course of my busy summer. On weeks that I eat well, I don't exercise much. On the weeks that I exercise faithfully, I'm not great about eating. Within the past few weeks, I've decided to trick my mind by joining a gym even though I have a treadmill so I can't use the "I have so much else to do" excuse and I go 3 days a week after work. I also do zumba 1-2x a week and strength train twice a week as well. I stay within my calories and for the second straight week the scale hasn't budged. I KNOW that I'm not alone. I KNOW there are other factors, but I NEED somebody to tell me them to get me past this crabby attitude and towards that motivating feeling. The one thing I DO know I need to work on is my sodium intake as that is almost always over every day. Can somebody tell me the effects of sodium over the course of a month. Would it really make me retain water so much that I NEVER see the scale budge? Any words of encouragement and advice or welcome. Just be nice please. I've already bruised my own ego once today by stepping on the scale
Thanks!

Encouragement- We all go throw that stalemate with our bodies. Dont know why they decide to challenge us like that! Bummy body... ;-] Maybe your body is trying to be smarter than you and has gotten into a routine.
Advise- check your cal's and see if you need to change them up. I noticed that mine didnt budge and I was eating more carbs than protien. Also change up your workouts. If you are doing something every monday, wed, friday, switch them to tues, thurs and such. Also you might try switching 'when you eat'. Like dividing up what you would normal eat into smaller amounts and eating more frequently. These are only some suggestions.
We all go through the not losing portion of the getting healthy. You can do it ;-]
