      I've been binge-watching the second season this weekend... it works out well, since I have a bunch of work I need to get done anyway, so I can type away on my laptop and watch episode after episode. :laugh:

      I really want to see this show.

      I read Piper Kerman's book, which I guess it must be SUPER LOOSELY based on...because the book is quite serious and thoughtful and would not make a great show if done directly to screen.

      Sounds like a hilarious one to watch, I cannot wait to eventually catch the first season and on to the second, hopefully...

      I finished the whole second season by Sunday...
      I can control my urge to binge eat but apparently I can't control my urge to binge watch this show.

      It's amazing.

      I read the book. And then heard the show was coming out. And that it would be Jenji-fied. And then I watched it and got my husband to watch it, too.

      And then it went like...whoa...so far off the plot of the book...

      And then I decided that was totally fine with me and decided to appreciate them for what they are and love both the book and the TV version separately.

      The End! :)

      p.s. I think the fact that the true Piper is still like an executive producer/consultant/can't remember the exact title makes me think she is OK with the show being different from her book, but based loosely...

      I am really happy you posted!! It is great to see this POV, too. That's the attitude I am going to try to take when watching!

      I am usually pretty good about enjoying film adaptations of books for what they are instead of just constantly nitpicking the differences. This situation seems especially strange, since it's a short memoir versus a funny & wacky tv show. I am really curious about it though!!
