Meal Planning

Hello,

Do you ever plan your next days food? I do, do you think it is alright to do, I think it stops me getting the munchies halfway through the day. What are your thoughts?

I plan my meals for a week at a time. It is easier to meet my macros and allocate calories for snacks and treats.

I usually plan a couple of days at a time so I can have time to prepare the food and purchase anything any I need. I'm less likely to "fall off the wagon" if I don't choose food at the last minute.

Ill fill in my diary for the next day the night before. Then I dont have to worry about anything the next day, I can just focus on following the diary and timing the food right.

I usually fill my diary in night before. That way I make sure I don't eat too big of a breakfast or lunch and not have enough calories left for evening snacking, and I also make sure I get at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies in each day and I find I do way better at this if I plan ahead.

I much prefer to plan my meals about a week in advance. It makes grocery shopping more efficient and helps me plan to eat leftovers. Buying too much food and then eating it all before it went bad was one bad habit of mine that led to weight gain. Nowadays I feel like I'm running behind if I wake up without my meals planned. I find eating what's already planned very, very easy.

I plan dinners a week at a time, I agree with csy108 that it makes grocery shopping way easier and more efficient! In fact I should have just quoted the whole post because it fits so well. I also plan my eating days in advance most of the time, though I do tweak here and there throughout the days (like I'll log 105g of eggs in advance but change it to the actual weight when I actually weigh them, or I'll make substitutions on snacks and such) but most of the time, especially for the main family dinner meal, what I pre-log is what I eat.

I love to plan ahead. Most weeks, I toss 5lbs of meat in the crockpot with lotsa veggies and base most of my lunches and dinners around that. Then I can just fill in with pasta or pizza or whatever hubby requests. Idrather cook 3x/week then every night!
