Food Burnout

Sometimes I'll get on a repetitive kick with certain foods. Everything tastes lovely and appealing until one random day when I take a bite and I'm so over it I can hardly swallow.

For me, the thought of any more plain Greek yogurt with fruit gives me the absolute shivers. Kombucha is fairly high on the list too.

What are some of your health and weight-loss food burnouts?

I go in out of yogurt burn out too - I'm in the mood, out of mood...

Also, toast. I'll have a toast thing for awhile and then be done with it.

Tuna. I like to keep tuna around, but sometimes I just can't go there. My aversion usually lasts a couple of weeks then I can eat it again.

Unfortunately, for me at least, it really seems canned fish products are more suited for the pet food aisle than my palate. The texture and smell are soooo off putting as of the last 10-15 years. Nothing like an actual tuna steak or fillet from the meat dept. It's like they've all stopped caring about quality control.

It doesn't even need to be a health and weight loss thing. I find this happens on occasion anyway. For example, we usually eat lots of mushrooms. I mean, mushrooms are a delicious addition to most recipes, right? Well, I just let 8 oz. of mushrooms shrivel to nothing in the fridge and have stopped buying them because I am mushroomed out! I don't care if I ever eat another mushroom. Yogurt and cottage cheese are among the other foods that I go "on again, off again." Right now, I'm "yogurt? Yes." and "Cottage cheese? Not in a billion years!" This, too, shall pass.

Now, if I could only develop a loathing, even if temporary, for butter, home made bread, cheese, ... no such luck.
