Its a struggle

Hi,

I am Ef- heres my stats-

Height 5' 5"
Weight 143 lbs

Aim 130 lbs

I have tried to be good- but i am being tested for food allergies at the moment. Im not keen on 'healthy food' and i have stopped my CONSTANT snacking. But after a long day at work (well its only 8am-6pm) I am gagging for a drink! And after a couple of drinks I cant stop having seconds (or thirds) of the delicious home cooked food that I get at home. AND I have zero will power so saying no to the drink- and seconds is very tempting.

I am also petrified to weigh myself!

Can anyone help me?

the harsh reality is that you cant eat and drink to excess and lose weight... which do you want more?

I was able to do body recomp of lose fat gain muscle no weight scale change while drinking. Since I have cut it out I can now build muscle lose fat and lose weight scale. Train your mind to fight these binge habits getting in the way of the new better version. I used to later night snack but it would be like a whole meal if calculated the calories.

It sounds a bit as though you are panicking?

Is it really a matter of "good" or "bad"? Food is not "good" or "bad" it's a substance containing a variety of nutrients, tastes and textures. It's like saying a chair is "good" or "bad" - it's not, it's just a thing. Similarly, you are not "good" or "bad", but your behavior can be "better" or "worse"...

Likewise, the scales are just a machine which gives you a number. It's one piece of data. It can't judge you, and doesn't have an opinion. I find it more helpful to have lots of different types of data, so I weigh myself, but also use a tape measure (waist, hips etc). Honestly, if you want to lose weight, you have to know where you're starting from.

Nothing "bad" about having a drink in the evening. I have a glass of wine every day - I find it relaxing and pleasant. The flipside is that it has calories with very little else. But I'm cool with that, and I work around it.

My own personal experience was that it took about 2 weeks to break my habit of snacking/overeating. 2 weeks in which I planned my meals every day (after I'd just eaten so I wasn't hungry), made sure I ate enough throughout the day), and worked hard to distract myself with numerous cups of tea, walks, reading, whatever I could think of. Since then, I just haven't had a desire to overeat in 5 months. I work snacks into my meal plan.

    2 weeks.
