hi im looking to get my first home workout dvd
im not into any aggressive type of workout as i have lower back and knee probs and i would just give up with these,
can anyone recommend something thats quite versatile and that can be built up slowly and gently to a higher level, i currently walk for my excercise and am getting faster and less out of breath, so its working
or would you just stick to the walking
your help would be most appreciated

For your specific needs I would suggest Slim in 6. My mother/father-in law love it and do it daily. They are fit healthy people but its designed to be low impact and appeals to a more mature age group (40+). You don't even require running shoes to do it - still waiting to burn a copy to see how thats possible, LOL!
I am a Turbo Jam fan myself (4 years baby!) which Is better on the knees then lets say 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels but is intense and requires some co-ordination.0 -
Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds might be a good one for you. I've been a fan of the Biggest Loser/Jillian Michaels workouts, but they're more high impact (I mean it *is* Jillian Michaels... haha). I did the 30 Day Shred for a while and I've moved up to Beachbody's Turbo Fire since the summer.0

There are some great dance-related workouts that are gentle on the knees ... bellydancing is great, and Core Rhythms as well. Working out your core will often help your back pain. Best of luck!0

Both my wife and I are big big fans of Slim in 6. I was quite heavy when I started the program with a bad back as well as pain in both knees. It is a very low impact program with a set schedule. We both had amazing results from this program. Plus the program has been redone and updated since we completed it, so I am curious as to what other think of it now.
Hope this helps,

I hate to repeat, but yes Slim in 6 is good for beginners!! There are three different levels, so you can advance as you feel necessary. It also has a Slim and Limber that is great. Slim in 6 is by Beach Body and they have tons of different programs. The great thing about SI6 is that they show you modified moves so there isn't as much strain on your injured parts!!!0

I would also recommend Slim in 6 through Beachbody. Also, when you get a chance check out a youtube video of Walk Away the Pounds. It's not simply walking it involves side steps and high knees. That will also help you progress in your cardio fitness. However, you should start using hand weights to increase your upper body strength. They have many hand weights to use even while you're walking.0
