30 day shred vs regular Jillian Michaels?

I started working out to the Jillian Michaels videos on amazon. There are a few free ones that are circuit training for 50 minutes or so. I am liking these but also keep seeing the 30 day Shred. I was looking for opinions on what you have used and liked best or the difference in results you are seeing. I have a lot of weight left to lost so for me it is not a matter of 6 weeks to a 6 pack but I want to get the most out of my workouts. I would think that the longer video would burn more calories, but I am not sure. Any advice is appreciated.

    I have a stack of Jillian DVDs, started with the 30DS and moved on from there, generally mixing and matching workouts throughout the weeks to keep from getting bored. :smile: You can get results from any of them - it's exercise, and whatever effort you put in you'll get back.

    I found it nice to alternate the shorter 30DS or one of the other shorter ones with one of the longer ones, like Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. I might do one that uses more dumbbells or resistance training one day, and one that is more cardio the next.

    I think my favorites were 30DS (because of the weights), Six Week 6-Pack (level two was my favorite), and Kickbox FastFix (the only one I'm still currently using on a fairly regular basis), but I haven't bought any of her newer workouts since Kickbox FastFix.

    Check your local library if there are titles you want to try that you can't find on YouTube - it's a great way to try a DVD before spending the money on it.

    I really like the 30 day shred. I haven't looked at any of her stuff on Amazon video, but I've got prime and the app on my tv, I'll have to check them out. You can find p1 of the 30 ds on YouTube, if you want to try it out before you buy.

    Great thanks. I just did 6 pack abs level 1 tonight and will check out 30 ds on you tube.

    I also have a stack of JM DVDs that I rotate through every week. It helps me from getting bored! I really like Ripped in 30, No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and Killer Buns and Thighs. I just started the One Week Shred and it is intense! I would definitely recommend getting a heart rate monitor if you want to know how many calories you are burning. I finally got one and love it! I hated trying to guess how many calories I burned doing videos.

    Hi,

    I just finished Ripped in 30, May 30th and started 6 week 6 pack June 1st. I love her workouts, even the ab video works everything and I sweat, I feel my muscles and I see my body shrinking.

    I do not follow her nutrition plans, but have cut my calories and try to eat clean and lean. I have lost 17lbs since April (my ticker is lower because I've been an MFP member for a few years, but when I fell off the wagon last year, I was 6lbs lighter then when I came back) and almost 10 inches from my body. I am stronger, I can complete more of the moves and have started a C25K program as well.
