I tend to binge or starve. I binge because I find that processed foods make me hungrier whereas I starve because I want to avoid the processed foods...and as far as carrots (celery, broccoli Etc...) how does one live like that ?

Cookbook.
I'm working on that one myself. I don't know how to cook nearly enough tasty foods, and the precooked crap does me no good at all.0 -
you don't live like that.
if you've been eating way too little, then when you eat a reasonable amount again, your hunger comes back, and this is a survival response that evolved to prevent people from accidentally starving to death. It's got nothing to do with whether the food's processed or not.
If you're afraid to eat processed food to the point that you end up starving yourself and then binge eating, maybe you need to see a health professional who has experience with disordered eating.0 -
This one is easy. There are no "bad" foods. There are some more or less calorie dense foods. There are foods with different macro nutrient composition. No bad foods. If weight loss is your goal, eat at a reasonable calorie deficit while eating foods you love. The reason you binge is because you have restricted your diet too much. Relax and don't over think it. Moving a little more helps too, not necessarily exercise (although that's a good thing) take the stairs, park farther away from the entrance, go for a walk. TL;DR, eat food you love, just eat a little less of it.0

You can't live like that. Hence, the binge cycle. Try not to make foods take on personality traits they can never have. Food is food. It's there to fuel our bodies. Some foods taste better than others. Decide what foods you like that will help you meet your macros (protein, fats, carbs) and then eat them at a deficit to your TDEE.

It continues to amaze me that in this day and age - with access to the internet - people still manage to say things such as "I can't cook" or "I don't know how to eat in a healthy way". I have a wall full of cookbooks, but half the time, like last night, I simply type into google - "garlic shrimp recipe" and up pops dozens of recipes and the instructions and time lines.
Eating isn't all or nothing - it's recognizing good food when you taste it and taking the time to learn how to prepare at home. And don't give me "I don't have time" we all have the same 24hrs in the day.
Books - Try Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Emeril Legasse, Michael Smith, to name but a few, or take your favourite foods - say chicken breast, and browse the internet for different ways to prepare it and what to serve with it.
Or hey - take a look at my diary - I tend to use generic calorie amounts, but you can see the variety in our diet.

Thank you
