Flaxseed?

Does anybody use it ? i have heard a lot about it being good because of the omega 3 oils, and helping with digestion and such , but does it actually help with weight loss and helping clean out your system ?

Not really unless you're talking about fiber in general

No impact on weight loss. In fact, it's quite calorific, so if you're using it, make sure you measure the quantity accurately.

It has a lot of natural oils so you need to watch how much you eat like anything else. Weigh loss is about eating less calories than burn.

I will say, I take a flaxseed supplement in the morning and a fish oil one at night because they aid in my severe dry eye condition. Omega-3's are important obviously for a lot of things other than eye health.

Actual flax seed has a lot of fiber too.

Plant based omega-3's (ALA) must first be converted (to DHA), and in the process, it is minimally absorbed, unfortunately. Fish based omega-3's (DHA, EPA) are more bio-available. I add flax for the fiber, but as others have said, it's caloric so measure it.
