Round Two

Back at the beginning of 2012, I got serious about losing weight, and more importantly, getting healthy. I originally set a weight loss goal of 76 pounds, and over the course of about 7 months, I lost 72 of those pounds. Then, inexplicably, I stopped. I know my excuses of course, but I really don't know why I quit that close to the goal. Even worse, I began the slide back to my old habits and my old weight and could never find the will and determination to stop.

For the past few months, I've been making a half-hearted attempt at losing weight, but it's lacked direction and I've been going nowhere fast. This morning, I stepped on the scale and came to the conclusion that at least for now, I need MFP again. "Watching what I eat" and "exercise more" as abstract ideas just don't work for me because apparently, I'm bad at estimation. At least until I retrain myself, I need to record every item I eat, record every exercise I do, and be able to track my progress towards a defined goal.

I also need encouragement and accountability. Thankfully, I still have a few friends remaining on my list from my first round, and they were great at encouraging me and also questioning me when I'd skip a day or two. However, quite a few of them are no longer active on the site, so I would like to make some new friends as well. The tracking features of MFP are great, but it was the community aspect of this site that kept me logging in from day to day, willing to use those features.

So here I am, looking for some new friends, both to encourage me and to be encouraged. Neither size, nor gender, nor location matter to me, as hopefully we're all just making progress toward being healthier. Any takers?

Edit: The picture of me on the left was taken near my lowest weight and serves as a reminder of where I'd like to be again.
