I sleep with a pillow between my knees to keep my hips and spine alligned. It helps with the pain. If its getting severe you may go see a Chiropractor. I have other back issues (stupid kid rearended me) but Chiropractors work wonders.

    I second this!

To the OP, be careful with your back, sometimes pain the hips can be an indication that your back is out of alignment xxx

I had the exact same problem, sleeping on my side, crossing my legs, sitting for extended periods of time and when I saw my doctor he immedietly stated it was Bursitis. He explained it to me as inflamation in the fluid sack, around the hip area, caues my repetitive motions ie. the gym. He prescribed me three weeks of strong anti inflammatories, which I just finished up, but it still has not fixed the problem. My advise would be to see your doctor though, just to make sure.

Bursitis of the hip is the most common cause of hip pain.
