Sugar question

I keep going over my sugar intake - some days I know I'm going to (if I had a few pieces of candy or some ice cream) but if I have a really good eating day (no candy or sweets), I still go over my sugar intake with fruits and vegetables?!
Does natural sugar count? Is it acceptable that I'm going over sugar if it's coming from fruit's and veggies?
Any thoughts would be helpful!

i seem to do the same EVERY DAY... i really cant figure how not to? so i have recently given up on that and am eating absolutely anything i like until i hit 1500kcal (my profile says 1200 but thats just a goal since i always go over!!)... also my nutritionist recommends around 1500 per day. I mentioned the sugar to him and he said ease of the sweets and not too much fruit... i have tried this and guess what... i still went over so meh!! How bad is it for my system anyway? will it harm me?0

Sugar is sugar is sugar. It's all the same to your body no matter the source. Refined sugar like that found in sweets is more easily metabolized hence the blood sugar spike, and later the blood sugar crash. Fruits and vegetables have carbohydrates (sugar) too. Fruits generally have less fiber than vegetables. That's probably why your nutritionist is telling you to take it easy on those too. They come with other vitmains and some fiber that you need, but the sugar in them is fairly readily available also. You can get the same spike and crash as you do with a candy bar if you eat something like an orange and just an orange.0
