This may sound like such a stupid question but I have gotten so many different answers.

Weigh everything raw and uncooked when you can, like protein, pasta, and rice.

    before.

Well actually I weigh it before AND after usually. I weigh it before to get the accurate calories and then I weigh it again after so that I get the correct portion. Take pasta for instance. A Serving is 56g (2 oz) UNCOOKED. So I weigh out 4 servings of 56g each (for my whole family), cook it, then weigh it after cooking (when it weighs in at around 500g give or take). Find out the total weight, divide by the number of servings I cooked, and I now know how many grams of cooked pasta is my portion.

Unless you are only cooking for one then this ^^^^^ is the best way to be sure

Before. The reason is that cooking methods vary and influence how much the finished product weighs. Always weigh the ingredients before cooking.

It depends on the food. Most meats, or at least the ones I buy, based their caloric values based on a cooked portion. But rice, oatmeal, and others are uncooked/dry weights.

Before. For example pasta is measured before cooking.
