World Cup snacking

Well, I have been getting on well with my diet and exercise program and am happy with my progress so far.

My problem now is the World Cup! It is one my life's great pleasures to watch almost every match, usually snacking on crisps, pizza etc in front of the TV for the month, enjoying the football. This time it has to be different, in terms of the snacking!

So, does anybody have any tips on healthy, low calorie, enjoyable snacks to eat whilst watching the games?

Am thinking home made popcorn will be a start, but am stuck after that! Any advice appreciated!

    1. use reduced fat greek yogurt as a base for dips- gives a nice protein base instead of the calorically dense mayo version. Then pair with chips (I prefer baked versions) and veggies of your choosing.

    2. Grill off a portion or two of marinated meat and/or veggie skewers.

    3. I love what I call "Mediterranean Nachos". It's a bean chip base (natural section of the grocery store), topped with chopped hot/bell peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Sprinkle some regular or light feta cheese on top and broil until the cheese has melted. Add chopped herbs on top.

I am a huge World Cup fan and I am looking forward to a season where it isn't about the beer and junk food but still delicious!

    Game on!

Frozen sugar snap peas, celery with yogurt dip, apple slices with Swiss cheese, deli meat wrapped around pickles, edamame, carrots and hummus, chili or black bean soup instead of pizza.
