so i admit i have not been eating as well as i should be and i have not been going to the gym. making excuses is easy, but there
has been alot of stress around here because my husband has been out of work for the past month and i have been picking up hours as an registered nurse. my weight has stayed the same. here is my question; how do i get my motivation back? i still do keep track of what i am eating, (most days), and i put down even if i eat things that i know i really shouldn't. i was doing so good with watching what i eat and going to the gym (i even went when we went on vacation). but the stress of life is starting effect the way i am feeling about myself and i am getting more upset at myself, for not doing what i know was working!
any suggestions, motivational speaches will be greatly appreciated

find another way to relieve the stress... walk... read... anything but the fridge! weight loss is also a mind game. Try to focus on comfort in something other than food. I hope the hubby finds a job soon. Don't forget to have some time for yourself. Get back on track and take one day at a time! good luck.0

I know it's hard but try to remember working out eases stress!! SO Just do it!!! Also you may really not have time for the gym I know how hard it is having a husband out of work, they are needy, remember you can do things with him take a walk after dinner!!! Every little bit helps and remember it can add up walk 20 mins of your lunch breaks then 20 when you get home thats 40 mins worth of working out without even feeling like it. Just get moving girlfriend!!! Also I know this sounds insane but I swear to you WATER = Energy!!! Drink water all day everyday, your Body wants water it is a natural fat flusher and filler upper. We are here for you you can do it!!! Remember small changes = Big results!! Trust me once you start these small changes you will crave more and before you know it you will WANT to go the the gym... JUST DO IT!!!0

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's job loss. I hope everything works out soon! Remember that by taking care of yourself you are helping your family. Working out leads to a healthier you, a happier you. At least for me, working out helps to de-stress. Your husband's job loss and extra time at work can lead to plenty of that, so take the time to work that stress out and go home a more positive and productive self.0

Please be nicer to yourself! Life is hard and it sounds especially hard, now, for you. I think the trick for most of us is that we need a "treat" other than food. Good luck, you can do it!0

I have to agree, every little bit works, exercise can do amazing things for the stress and mood. You can do it! Keep up the great work and drink water!0 -
Going to the gym for your regular work outs will actually help you de-stress. It will allow you to focus on something besides your problems for a little while and the endorphines that get released as you exercise will brighten your mood. And that in turn will make you want to eat better. Healthy foods also make you feel better and feel more healthy. Eating junk food only makes me want to sit on the couch and eat more junk food. Eating a salad makes me feel healthy and clean and gives me tons of motivation to stick with the healthy diet.0

Oh, I soooooooooo understand where you are coming from. I went though the same thing (a little different, but the stress was there!). I got it back now. Tood A LONG TIME to refocus. Best advice I have is set new goals. Buy new work out tapes or piece of equipment or even new running shoes. Something that makes you feel good. Money is probably tight now so think about something you really want (but shouldn't buy) and set a goal. When you meet that goal, go buy that new purse or pair of shoes you have been wanting. The goal may be weight loss, or it may simply be meeting your work out goals for one month straight or making your calorie/protein/carb/fat goals everyday for one month. Reward yourself. Take a day to get pampered.
Most of all, try hard to stay focused. I know how hard it is. I hope this helps. You can do it and it will help with your stress level too.0 -
If you're anything like myself, I am the QUEEN of excuses. LOL ...and once you start making them, they don't stop unless you make a conscious decision to. Unfortunately, I've gained by the time I make that decision. However, I'm wondering something...is it the extra hours you're having to put in or is it that you're having to still do all the "house" responsibilities as well as the extra hours? I don't know about you, but if I have to work extra, I make my family pick up some extra chores so I can stick with the business of keeping myself healthy.0
