So i heard that taking B12 shot can help boost your metabolism and help you loose weight..considering taking the shot, my questions is, what are some pros and cons that you have faced. How do you know if you have too much B12 and if you dont have enough? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I also read that B12 shot scan help your thyroid gland..so you can have more energy, any people out there with a thyroid problem that took b12 and seen a difference?

Thanks

Never heard of a B12 shot... hahaha you would be awake for DAYS!!!!

B12 is a great "pick me up" and its a great mood improver too!!! If you want it I suggest you go and take B12 tablets....:drinker:

But my doc said max for b12 in one day should be 100mg... Most B12 tabs have either 50 or 100mg in them... so I dont know why you would get jabbed instead of simply take a tablet..... (i have issues with needles)

Have you been tested for B12 deficiency? A shot (or series of shots) could make a big difference if you are deficient.

If you have enough Intrinsic Factor, you can utilize B12 taken orally. Sub-lingual is usually the preferred form of tablet (easier for your body to access the B12), though the kind you just swallow work also. If you lack Intrinsic Factor, you can take massive doses of B12 orally and have them pass right through you. In that case, you'd need to have the injection because you wouldn't be getting B12 from any of the food you eat.

B12 is great for energy...but only if you are deficient. Consider finding out if you are deficient in B12 first. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and money taking B12 or getting a shot of B12. If you eat meat, fish, dairy or eggs, you probably get enough B12.
