Burned Calories - how to count?

Just wondering if any of you can help me.

I have started exercising along with calorie counting from the last week. I am logging my exercises to the runtastic which is connected with my fitnesspal. I am just wondering what method are you using to count burned calories? I am not sure if runtastic is counting the calories properly as it showed this for example yesterday:

Elliptical 30 mins, 5.55 km - 383 kcal
Stationary Bike 30 mins, 11.35 km - 281 kcal

I am thinking that the amount of calories burned should be much less.
Could you please advise me what is the best way to count your burned calories? Or is it runtastic showing a good amount of burned calories?

And I am 25 and 164 cm tall and 76.5 kg

Prior to me using TDEE method (which includes exercise calories) I logged them using MFP...I am one of the few I think that they were accurate for.

Or if I did fitnessblender I chose the mid range.

Now I use Mapmyfitness app on my phone (again tho I don't log them)

Mind you exercise machines and apps are known to over estimate calorie burns so take those numbers with a grain of salt and log maybe 50-75% of them.

The best way is to get a HRM with a chest strap for steady state cardio...

If you're not sure about the calories burned, play safe and only eat back half of them. That being said- I usually go with what MFP says and haven't had any issues with my weight loss so far.

Though as mentioned above, HRMs are the most accurate way to track.
