been binging and want to stop

i was doing so well loosing weight, but ive ruined all the hard work but binge eating. i've had 8 binging episodes in 3 weeks and ive probably eaten 3500-5000 calories on those binge session. yesterday i felt like binging and i had nandos crisps, some polish bread with margarine, a low fat mousse, mint vienetta ice cream and half a pizza. i feel terrible. part of me takes advantage of the fact that i exercise hard and that i can loose the weight if i go to the gym and eat clean for a couple of days. i really want to break this cycle, but it keeps on happening. my period is due soon but that's not an excuse. ive been binging lately and it always happens when i do well with my weight loss. im worried my weight has ballooned and i wont weight myself. before the binges i was 12st 4lb and close to a proper size 12. i havent binged a week in a row; ive had some healthy eating and gym days. i think unconsciously it might be emotional as i feel lonely and i don't get to meet the opposite sex or have sex, im 22 and should be having lots of it. im not a slag and i refuse to sleep around. also i may be going to germany after the summer and im really scared. im worried i wont like it and i wont fit in and i wont cope. plus i'll miss my mum and my cat.
also ive started taking tablet for my hayfever and it says that one of the side effects though not common is increased appetite.

it happens, i had a couple binging weekends in may where i took out a months worth of progress. all we can do is learn from our mistakes and move forward. try to figure out whats triggering these binges, if you cant get them under control then perhaps looking into some sort of therapy is the best option
sex is like oxygen, its not a big deal unless you're not getting any. be patient and these things will work out, if you rush into something you could end up in a rough spot. there are a ton of people not getting any, you're definitely not alone there
germany is going to be awesome, id do anything to take a trip there, its where my grandfather grew up. just dont worry so much about the little things that you cant change, if you keep to your deficit you will lose weight so theres no use stressing over it, just keep those binges to a minimum0 -
I have the same worries, but so far it hasn't happened for me. But it's not the end of the world, and even if it does happen, I know that I will have to just keep on keeping on. Think about your reasons for losing in the first place. Are you trying to feel better? Look better? Ease pain? Increase your self esteem? Whatever it is, think about that. Concentrate on that, not the feelings of shame you might experience. You *can* bounce back from this. You *can* do it! Try not to keep the binge foods in the house for a little while, that might help. Good luck to you.0

I'm a binge eater too and have been struggling lately. Things that help me are:
- Do not keep foods you're likely to binge on in the house! I know that I can't just eat one or two Oreos, I'll eat the whole sleeve, so I just don't buy them.
- When you feel the urge to binge, try to focus on why you feel that way. Usually when I want to binge it's a response to feeling sad or anxious. If I can pinpoint why I want to binge and focus on relieving that bad feeling some other way, the urge to binge passes. We all know binging seems to relieve crappy feelings in the moment, but once you're done eating, you feel worse than when you started!
- Sometimes I will want to binge just because I see something that looks yummy. I try to tell myself "I know what that tastes like." I kow what M&Ms taste like and I don't need to eat more of them. I've experienced them, and they're good, but they're not so good that they're worth losing all of my progress!
You can do it! I am really struggling this week too, because of my period and some other stresses. Log everything, hold yourself accountable. A few slipups are okay if in the long run you are losing. Good luck!0 -
BigT555 has some awesome advice for you. I have exactly the same problem and am currently losing from my last binge. 5 days in one week each binge 3000-6500 cals. I dont know why i was binging, i was at maintenance and then boom! Hungry and 5lbs heavier. Anyway, i am at work at the moment but i bought a book regarding binging which is very interesting, when i get home i will re-reply to this post with the book details. Hang on in there!
P.S. am finding that working out a bit more often is helping to curb the urge to binge. Also if you paint your nails its very hard to eat with wet nail polish, always worth a thought...0 -

You apparently know you have issues with this...per the post about 2 bad days of it...but you continue to do it. You make the decision...stop it or don't.0 -

Agreed with Stef. You need professional help/counseling, not the same answers over and over from random strangers on a message board.
I sincerely hope you get the help you need, but to name a few:
