giveth and taketh away

Does anyone else use a Jawbone UP band? I recently linked my band to MFP, and I'm having a hard time understanding how it works. I sync my band once I'm done with most of my activity for the day and MFP gives me a calorie adjustment based on my number of steps that day. The adjustment is usually no more that 140 calories or so. I usually walk between 8,000-12,000 steps per day. THEN, the following day it'll take away all or part of that adjustment, putting me back in the red for my daily calorie intake.

There is no way that I'm still at a "sedentary" TDEE if I'm walking 4-6 miles per day. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I don't have one but just wanted to put this out there...have you tried using the Search function (see above)? I know there have been discussions and tips shared before so you might be able to find your answer there. Good luck!

Thanks! I gave the search a shot and it came up with a lot of folks debating which fitness tracker was best but not much about calorie adjustments. Oh well, I didn't really intend to eat back too many of my exercise calories anyway!
