Rest days

Generally, how many rest days from working out do you guys give yourself? If it's more than one, do you space them out, or do you have rest days back to back?

I haven't had one in about a month but I used to take one once a week.

Really depends on you're routine and how quickly your body recovers, which things like sleep and nutrition play a role. I might take 1 rest day a week, and even those have some kind of light exercises included, or running.

A couple of times a year, I do take almost a week off, just to clear everything and reset.

i usually don't unless i am "forced" such as "going on an all inclusive resort"....
other than that i don't take breaks, for me it is hard to get back on track.

It's going to depend on what you're doing/training for.

Rest days are just as important as the days you work out.

Like what others said, depends on your routine. I usually have 1 rest day. However, my new lifting program has shown me that deadlift day is challenging. So I have 2 rest days. My normal rest day, and my unofficial rest day before deadlift day to make sure my legs are fresh.

For me, multiple consecutive rest days doesn't work. I feel rusty. But it depends on what works for you. It won't hurt to play around and see what works for you.

I find I operate best with 4 days working out and 3 days resting. I usually put two back to back then space out the third one between the 4 workout days.

However it all depends on what you're doing. When I was doing g c25k I rested every other day like the program says to.
