Hey MFP buddies I was wondering if anyone has one of those Body Media armbands? The idea of it looks really cool and I was wondering how it is working for you. Its pretty expensive but not to expensive if it will help me with my health. So was it worth the money? If your wondering what I'm talking about please see the link below...check it out its really cool! I love science LOL.

Personally, I would save your money and buy a regular heart rate monitor that tracks calories burned for about $50. You can wear it all day too to get an idea of how many calories you burn throughout the day. And you can (and obviously do) use MFP to analyze the foods you're eating. The sleep thing in practical terms may not be very useful for your weightloss goals. What I mean by that is it's a variable that you can't generally do much about, unlike exercise and calorie management. But if you can afford the toys, by all means give it a shot and let us know how it works.0

I have a BodyBugg...which is owned by BodyMedia so it's the same product, just different name (I suppose they got it branded differently to be associated with 24 hour fitness and the Biggest Loser. Well, I used it for a while and now have found it to be a little inaccurate. I also went and purchased a Polar HR monitor (with chest strap)...I wore both all day to compare the numbers...and BodyBugg was way off...I believe that the actual heart rate is a more accurate measurement versus 3D motion and sweat...So I've now retired my bodybugg and just use the HR monitor. I'm actually about to list the thing on Craigslist. I've spent a lot of money $199 for the armband, another $6 for a longer cord, another $99 for the watch (visual display). Needless to say, I feel like I wasted a lot, I ended up getting my polar for $90.0

I have the Body fit media and love it! But I also know that no piece of technology will ever be 100%. I use it more as a guide and as accountability.0

Have one, it motivates me, especially on those very occasional long cardio days. Loves me some 7000calories used.0
