I've faithfully logged in for 10 days and consuming 1100-1200 calories per day focusing on protein with light to moderate activity. I have't lost anything...yesterday the scale said I was down .5lbs and now today, I'm up 1.5! Yikes!! I don't get it.

water ... its all water!!! (maybe) Give it a couple of days and if you don't see a difference work harder.
I've heard its bad to weigh yourself everyday but I can't help it!!
We can do this0 -
It's difficult to give advice without seeing your diary. Could you open it for viewing?0

You've only been at it for 10 days. It's going to take more time than that to see any results. And water does play a part in the equation. The scale is going to fluctuate, but if you stick with it and exercise some patience, you'll see it go down and stay down.0

I would bump up the activity if possible and give it a few more weeks. Sometimes it just takes time.0

You may be eating more protein but how much carbs are you eating? Also you may be consuming more protein than you should be, you shouldn't eat more than 30g of protein per serving that's an equivalent of one average sized chicken breast. Your body uses the 30g and anything more than that is a waste which only adds to the weight.0

How do your clothes feel? Often times the clothes will start feeling looser first. Try to remember that it's the inches that really matter!0

Weight loss doesn't always happen that quick and can fluctuate up to 7lbs in a single day. You might weigh yourself in couple more days to find you've lost several pounds. Try not to let it discourage you and don't weigh yourself that often. If you can't help but weigh yourself everyday, then just record the average at the end of the week.0

Wow! Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it...yes my clothes feel better and even my body seems somewhat leaner if you know what I mean. It feels like I really have lost, I haven't done the measurements. Thanks for the reminder. I had gastric bypass 4 years ago..lost 75 lbs, balanced back about 15 lbs and have now gained 19 lbs since September. The honeymoon phase of the surgery is over. All your suggestions are good reminders and I know I shouldn't weigh everyday. I have been back to the doctor to get on track and they were glad I came back0

I know this may be hard to hear because upping your calorie intake is really a struggle when you're trying to see the scale go down (most people automatically think the less calories they eat, the more weight they'll lose), but I don't think you're consuming enough calories. I don't know what kind of foods you've been eating, but I suggest adding in a couple hundred more calories by way of clean foods. That will give your body more energy and it won't go into "starvation mode" which is a place that you definitely do not want to be because then your body starts storing food as fat.
Also, do not weigh every day. You can get a better idea of your actual progress by weighing weekly, if that or even better, by how your clothes fit.
Just stick with it! I've had to start over way too many times because I would get discouraged and would give up. Keep logging your foods and keep turning to people who are of help and encouragement to you!
Edit: I just saw your post that said you had gastric bypass previously, so that helps explain why your calorie count is so low! I understand now that you may not physically be able to up your calorie count. But still, stick with it and don't get discouraged! Even a 0.5 lb loss is a loss! :-)0 -
How long has it been since you last saw a drop on the scale? If you've only been at this for 10 days then it can't have been that long. Weight loss is not linear and small stalls of a week or two are completely normal. Sodium, cheat days, exercise, hormones, stress, TOM, can all cause water retention, which can mask any fat loss that's happening on the scale.
Since it's only been a week or two there may be nothing to worry about. If you want to look deeper, though:
Are you using a food scale, measuring cups, or eyeballing your portion sizes? Most people can be off in their estimates by a whole lot when they eyeball portions. Measuring cups are better, but a food scale is always going to be the most accurate.

And make sure that you've calculated your calorie goals appropriately. Remember that these are just estimates. You may need to play around a little to find what works best for you.

If you're exercising and eating back your earned exercise calories, be sure you're using accurate estimates of your burn. MFP and gym machines have a tendency to overestimate certain activities, which can cause you to eat back more calories than you need to. Even a heart rate monitor isn't 100% accurate. If you're eating those extra earned calories it might be a good idea to eat only 50-75% of those.0
