If i eat a scoop of roasted vegetables from my college's cafeteria, how should i log this? i assume that 1 scoop is close to being a half cup. and i can look up the half cup of the particular vegetable. however, how does one count the cooking oil used to roast the veggies?? i have no idea how much or which kind is used... please help!!!

Ask, they should provide you with that information and have it on hand. If not, I recommend writing a letter to the cafeteria manager to find out if they can start providing that information and make sure you send a courtesy copy to the Dean. But for the immediate cause try to determine how oily they are... blot any excess with a napkin and estimate a 1/2 or full Tablespoon from there. You can figure most oils (vegetable, canola, and olive) to be around 100 calories. My guess is they used vegetable or canola since they are significantly less expensive.0

dang it really sucks to think about how much added fat and calories are being added to VEGETABLES for crying out loud.... that is so frustrating. i would like to enjoy a healthy side other than salad every once in a while!!! :grumble: :mad:0
