Gaining Weight?!?!

So long story short I have been lifting and working out pretty consistently about 5x a week. I first started out doing alot of lifting and I've gotten stronger since then. My diet is good I dont really count calories, one it's just a hassle, I do only eat healthy foods veggies fruit and chicken etc I do not drink soda, or eat processed foods, etc etc I drink alot of water, but for some reason my summer shorts from last year are NOT FITTING. is it possible to get too big that you have to go a size up ?! Like that is the opposite way i want to go. I feel like i'm doing something wrong somewhere.

I feel like it's my cardio, back then I didnt do a whole and and for the past week or two i've been experimenting and doing more cardio and less lifting to see if that will help. any suggestions? and no i do not post my food on this app anymore, too tedious.

The type of food you're eating is completely irrelevant. If you're eating more calories than you're burning every day you will gain weight, period. If you're eating less calories than you're burning every day then you will lose weight, period. This is true regardless of how "healthy" you feel the food you're eating is. In terms of weight gain and weight loss, calories are ALL that matter.

If you don't want to put the work in logging your food because it's too tedious that's fine, but don't expect the results you want without putting in the necessary work.

You need to make sure that you are eating less calories than you burn. If you eat more calories than you burn per day you will gain weight, like others have said, regardless if those calories come from rice and vegetables or from pizza and cake. It's really really difficult to estimate how many calories you are eating if you've never counted before. I would suggest counting calories and logging everything you eat for 2 weeks, just to see how much you've been eating. It can seem tedious, but if you are eating similar foods a lot it's actually quite easy to use the app. Just try for a few weeks and you'll find you have a better idea of the calories in things. I've lost weight before without counting, but having counted before I was able to estimate, however now that I have less to lose I need to be a lot more accurate!
