Food Combinations and etcetera?

My friend's dad recently lost 20 kilos by making sure he made "good" food combinations, such as eating protein and starches seperately (no sandwhiches with meat in it etc.) and generally adhering to the "rules" of good food combinations.
I've tried to do this, but it seems like I'm more unsatisfied with the amount I eat if I only eat starch or only eat protein, compared to when I eat them together and I eat a lot more than I normally would.
Would you recommend I carry on with this diet? I've gained like 0.6 Kilos, and it's in the morning before I ate breakfast. I don't want to gain any weight back from what I shed off doing yoga.... What do you guys think? Have anyone tried this diet before, and does it work for you?

The reason your friends dad lost weight was because he was eating at a calorie deficit and had nothing to do with food combining. Food combining is just another non scientific fad diet. To lose weight you need to consume less calories than you use. That's it nothing more complicated.
