Help! Tonight we are going to eat at a Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse for Father's Day. Any pointers on what I can eat that will not blow my calorie allowance for the day?

P.S. I am severely allergic to seafood so sushi and things of that nature are out of the question.

look up their menu if it's online. hibachi steakhouse's tend to have things like chicken... and steak.

tell them immediately about your severe seafood allergy, and that you cannot have any cross-contamination. i'm sure they have means to accommodate you.

If they have one, go to their web site and check out menu and nutritional values. I rarely have the opportunity to go out to eat. When I do, I think of what sounds good or what I would like to have ( based on which restaurant)
go to their site and check it out. If what I want can fit into my macros I go for it. If not I adjust so it will. Most important, ENJOY! :drinker:

Agree with the above! Definitely call ahead and let them know. I've been to plenty, and they have always used the same utensils on the seafood as they do the red/white meat and vegetables. Not sure if your place will be the same, but the risk of cross contamination is likely going to be high. See if they can cook your meal first, before anyone else's, so if there is seafood ordered, you will know that the utensils will not possibly have traces of seafood on them.

Personally, I'm a fan of chicken and steak. I usually get it with white rice on the side, and I can never finish my plate. Makes for a great meal the next day!
