where to start?

Hi and thank you for any and all advice,
I am in terrible shape. I had both knees replaced and my joints all over are always stiff and achy. I have a catch -22 situation. I feel terrible so don't do anything physical which makes me bored and depressed so I don't exercise which just leads me to feeling worse and avioding exercise etc. So where to start? I think I need to improve flexibility, then strength, then cardio however, it is hard to start and know where to start when you are in constant pain. I know if I could improve my physical health my dieting would seem more worthwhile. The diet and physical side are so connected but I'm having trouble with both because of the effects of both. I am looking for suggestions to start moving and feeling less like stiff log. I am unable to join a gym at this time. I thought yoga but can't kneel because of the knee replacements. HELP!

Walk ... swim ... bike ... dance ... do yoga moves that you can ... pilates ... resistance band workouts .... hike ... pushups ... situps ... golf (even mini) ... just find something you enjoy that requires getting off your butt and moving. It's a start point. Couple it with a sensible deficit and you'll start shedding the first few pounds which in turn helps with the exercises.
With the surgical history, talk to your doc or physical therapist about range of motion exercises for the knees. Fuller range of motion means the ability to do more exercises that work the supporting musculature and a return to what most of us think of as normal activities.0 -
Look into DDP Yoga. I love it. It can be modified to fit your limitations (in fact it is encouraged). Here is a video that might inspire you:
