Feel really guilty for eating?

So I've been dieting and exercising for 100 minutes for more than a week now. I had one cheat day where I went over 1000+ calories.
Anyway, today ive had around 800 calories, and lost over 400 by going on the treadmill. I had cheerios and and kfc (leg, chips and wings) and I just feel so bad for eating!
According to my goal I should eat over 1000 more calories to reach my goal for the day but I just can't make myself do it. I'll just hate myself.
I know its stupid but I'm 262 lbs and it's like the last thing I should be doing is eating.
Anywhoo, do you guys get this feeling?

If you're getting to the point that you are overwhelmed with guilt or self hatred over some chicken I would suggest getting professional help.
EDIT: I don't mean that to come across as insulting. I mean that with sincerity for your well being.0 -
HI! Thanks for posting on here... it really is the first step.
Here is some good news... you don't have to eat so little to lose weight. Please start reading some of these links and realize that food is your friend, it gives you energy, and that a slow and steady weight loss is the way to do it.
Keep it simple find a reasonable deficit: Most people do not need to eat 1200 calories to lose.
--- I am copying the following from another post so I can't take credit.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal
Log your food accurately and honestly this thread will help:

Netting 400 calories so far today isn't going to lead to weight loss. Your body needs fuel for its workout, and basic functioning.
Input your info and activity level into the site, and follow it. MFP is designed to eat back your exercise calories, because your deficit is already built in to your daily goal.
If you continue to starve yourself, you aren't going to see significant change over time. If you are feeling guilty/unable to find the drive to eat because of guilt, please get in touch with a professional asap. You shouldn't hate yourself for fueling your body, and that sounds like it may manifest itself into ED behaviors.0 -
You are being terribly hard on yourself. It doesn't matter what you weigh, you deserve to attend to your physical needs.
Losing the weight is a long process and being so strict with yourself at the very outset is not sustainable, which will further feed feelings of self-loathing if you cannot keep up with eating so little food and over-exercising.
Eating KFC is perfectly fine in moderation, fitting it in with your allowance etc.
Given how much you exercise and your current weight, 1000 calories is not enough and you won't be getting sufficient nutrients. In the long run it will be harmful to your physical and mental health.0 -
Remember that eating is a completely normal function in life and we need to do it in order to survive! You'll be fine. I know I always feel awful physically after eating deep fried stuff but don't let it turn into making you feel emotionally awful!
You're doing great! Moderation is the key. So go ahead and eat your remaining 1000 calories!
(Try drinking some water and eating some veggies. That always works for me to take away the "I just ate fast food" feeling.)0 -
Of course you feel bad but please just plan a bit better and hold your head high. You can do this just don't look for instant results. The lbs didn't go on over nite and won't leave over nite. You can be strong....it took strength to get started so keep going0

I had a similar issue in the beginning. It was because I had this vision of what dieting was supposed to be (salads), so I would be eaten alive with guilt when I ate something that wasn't "diet" food.
This way will make you lose weight for sure - but once you get sick of being constantly hungry, you'll regain it all and probably then some. This sort of view of food encourages binge eating in me.
View food as fuel, nothing else. It's not a bad or good thing - it's a neutral thing. Your body needs fuel. You need to provide it with fuel. If you over do the fuel, you'll make a mess (think filling up at a gas station), but if you don't get enough, you won't get where you want to go.
Eating is not a bad thing. Maybe you should sit down and plan out your day in advance - then enter the food you plan on eating into your diary, so you can get a feel for what meets your goals and what doesn't?
If you can't overcome this on your own, soon - I recommend getting some help. It may be just an adjustment period, but it may not be.0 -
The reason you feel guilty for eating is either caused by a medical condition or because you don't understand the facts behind weight loss. If you have an eating disorder then seek professional help. Otherwise, invest time in learning the facts behind weight loss. Read the sexypants link and start incorporating those changes into your life and you will eat well, lose weight, and not feel guilty.0
