I'm pretty new here. I've been using MFP for a few weeks now. I've use apps like this in the past and they're pretty effective if you keep using them. This is the third time in roughly 30 years that I have seriously tried to lose weight. The previous 2 times I lost quite a bit only to regain quite a bit. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember. I've got a whole new outlook on things at this point and hopefully will be able to maintain once I get to my final target which I have never achieved previously. I've also started using a Fitbit One and find it to be a pretty valuable addition to monitor real activity levels and help keep calorie intake-outtake aligned. I'm 53 soon to be 54, 5'11" with about 75 more pounds to lose to get to my target of 180. That's actually kind of crazy cause I don't remember when I weighed less than 200 lbs.
