Anyone else out there a "weekly" calorie tracker?

Hi everyone,
For a while now I've been more concerned with my weekly calories than daily. Some days I go over, some days I'm under, and I'm totally fine with that because it usually evens out in the end. I feel that as long as I meet my overall weekly goal I'm still staying on track and making progress. It's also awesome because I can go out and have a fun Friday night without worrying, "Oh no, will this put me over my calories for the day?"

Anyway, I'd love to add friends who who keep track of weekly or even monthly goals too. I love all my current MFP friends but it'd be cool to be friends with people who understand I'm not too concerned with the day-to-day stuff. If anyone is like this feel free to add me :flowerforyou:

I do 5:2 And it Is a bit the basic of it since it is 2 days very low calories and 5 days at maintenance.

Ah yeah, I've heard of 5:2. It would never work for me because of the very low cal days haha, but yeah, it's similar in concept to what I do. Sending a friend request your way :)

Weekly works for some people. For others it is justification to starve themselves for days on end and binge on others. Just like with macros, meal timing, number of meals per day ... daily/weekly tracking is a personal preference.

Is there a way to do this simply, here? I do prefer a slightly bigger picture with calories - but I haven't figured out how to do that simply on MFP.

I do! During the week I'm happy on quite low calories but on weekends we tend to do a lot of food related stuff and have a few drinks so weekly goals make sense for me. Stops me fretting about having a big night on the weekend

I'm generally over most days but I try to balance it out with my workouts. I definitely don't sweat going into the red daily though (prob just as well!). Today I was over by 800. However I know I burnt around that yesterday. I like to tot up at the end of the week to check I'm balancing the books :blushing:

MFP is based on net calories. If your workouts and overages balance, you're not over.

I use the TDEE method rather than what MFP set for me. But yes it all boils down to caloric intake vs output just the same.

I just downloaded the MFP app for iPad. You can see intake averaged over 7 days. Don't think you can do it on the website though.

It isn't always justification to starve and binge. In fact, the idea of weekly averages has helped me not starve and binge. I started following TDEE philosophy but still log my exercise calories just so I can track my weekly NET calorie average. By watching my weekly averages I forgive the days when I eat more, something i could never do before and I do not force feed myself on days when my Net is low due to exercise. This can actually create more balance for some people.
