Cardio Queen FINALLY deciding to add Strength..HELP!!

I am tired of doing only the elliptical, treadmill and stationery bike at the gym so today I used some of the machines and did strength on my legs. Shockingly, I enjoyed it. I think it's time for me to add strength to my workouts. I want to start using the machines and then I will work my way up to using free weights. Today I used 4 leg machines & did 3 sets of 15 on each machine. The weight was anywhere from 20-40 lbs depending on the machine. Is that a good starting point? Any advice for a beginner on strength using the machines?? Be easy..lol

Few Questions:

Am I to do all 3 reps on one machine and move to the next or do 1 rep on each and then go back to the others until 3 reps are done?

How much time am I supposed to wait when going from one machine to another?

How do I know if I have do or do not have enough weight wise when using the machines?

The rep question is more up to you...figure out what you like better, if you are doing one rep per machine then dont really rest, by ghe time you have it set up you will be rested. If it hurts at the end of the rep (not a ton but a burn) you're good. Good luck!
