binged.... ON QUEST BARS??

Oh god. so I bought Quest bars yesterday. (four: 2 CNC, WCR, and CCCD)

I ate one after a long jog/run/walk yesterday, so good microwaved!!

I've been 'eating right' since Tuesday. Then last night i ate another quest bar (remember i had one earlier in the day)

THEN today I started of good, one egg on wheat english muffin. then i ate a healthy choice frozen lemom pepper fish apple dessert (calorie info:http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/healthy-choice-lemon-pepper-fish-rice-pilaf-broccoli-caramel-apple-dessert-115036101) THEN I ate two quest bars. I WASTED MY QUEST BARS AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT AHHHH


but how bad of a binge do you thing this is?

    It happens, I wouldn't worry about it to much. Just don't buy anymore more quest bars for a bit... and if you do in, just get one so there won't be any temptations.
  • how did you deal with a binge ( the first time on your current diet)? did you exercise right after to burn it off?

    but how bad of a binge do you thing this is?

    I dont care if its a health food or not, COWS binge on GRASS allllllllllll day and look how fat they are. Anything can make you fat in the right amount. Even quest bars. Slow down, breathe, and think about the good you'll be doing yourself by not binging in the long run. Its so tough, everyone does it, and its certainly better than binging on krispy kream donuts, but that doesnt make it healthy or right. Don't beat yourself up about it, just do better next time.

    Nah... I had popcorn and coke the other night at the movie and and just ate better the next day. I generally don't have sugar or refined foods, or tons of carbs, so that was a HUGE binge for me. I don't care! I'm doing so much better overall than I ever have in my adult life that I can get past it WHEN (not if) I screw up.

    Two Quest bars in a day? At the worst, you're wasting your money. They're a little too expensive to be eating like snack food.

    Everyone slips up and binges from time to time. I combat it by never buying junk food when I do my weekly shopping. If I crave junk food during the week I have to evaluate if it is worth walking 25 minutes to the nearest shop to buy it, it rarely is. Maybe stop buying Quest Bars, or only pick up one? I'm really bad with snacking if I know snack food is readily available in the kitchen. ^_^

    I like to flatten them out, bake them a little, and then spread ice cream on top with some sugar free syrup, like a little cookies and cream dessert pizza.

    That's not even close to binging. That's overeating. It happens to everybody. Binge eating is eating unusually large amounts of food, eating even when you're full or not hungry, eating rapidly during binge episodes, eating until you're uncomfortably full.

    It's important to know this. And how realistic/useful your goal is. If your goal is too much of a deficit you will be more prone to wanting to binge and also feel bad about and also lose more lean mass (which is something you want to keep.) A lot of people just starting out mistakenly think that "eating right" means super restrictive food lists and/or a very small calorie goal.

    Okay, i JUST started this diet. you even a box of cheez its? i've eaten so much more junk in one sitting. an entire bag of hot cheeto puffs, pack of mint oreos, so much processed food and desserts. ive basically been eating terrible all my life. i dont know how 'eating right really works, okay? so instead of making fun of me for worrying over this just tell me what you think in a more understanding matter rather than being such a smart alec.

  • I LOVE MY QUEST BARS-they do taste good-I am eating one right now-but you do have to watch eating too many of them-I try to only eat 1 -but my friend they do taste good-so just move on it is not the end of the world-just log it and move it-don't beat yourself-:smile:

    eating 400 calories "un planned" and with a balanced set of macros is "binging"? NO.
