That I couldn't lose 14 pounds by June 28th.
Should I take him on? I'm afraid, b/c I have only lost like 4 pound in almost 2 months. I've hit plateau after plateau. I would love to take him on, but am afraid that I won't do the right things to actually lose it!

I'm 167 right now.
I would love to be 155-150 by then. How much would I have to do to really win this bet?
And he's betting me like over $1000! I do artwork for him and he's betting his next bill on it!

I think you should go for it! It's "do-able" but you are getting near to your goal weight (looking at your profile, anyway.) Even if you hit the gym every day, you might lose fat and gain muscle. Go with your gut on this one, and good luck!! :flowerforyou:

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, betting is in my blood. I learned how to count playing blackjack and practically grew up in casinos around town.

With that said, I wouldn't bet someone $1000.00 to lose weight. There are too many factors involved! What if you're bloated from your period, sick, you drank too much water before your weigh in, gained muscle mass, plateau etc.

I would just continue to lose weight on my own and keep my monies.

    Good Luck! :flowerforyou:

Sounds like a double whamy win to me!! Win the money and a new body!!!!

And worst case for you - you don't make it but you lose an extra pound or two that you wouldn't have lost w/ out the bet.

GO FOR IT!!! Just do it smart. Don't skip meals. Just skip the second helpings, the desert, etc. Take an extra walk or do an extra push up.

I wish someone offered me a bet like this!!! :)

I wouldn't. But I'm not a betting person and even if I were, $1000 is a lot of money if you lose the bet. Besides that, winning a bet is not a good reason to lose weight.

So spell this out for me...

Would you have to pay him $1,000 cash or just give him a break on the artwork bill???

If you have to pay him cash then I wouldn't do it. If it's some free labor I'd consider it just for the motivation sake.

It sounds to me that art is the way you make a living and I personally would never bet my craft work. Secondly if you are hitting plateaus I would think too much is riding on it, but you may be able to afford to loose $1000, me it sounds like alot of money. I personally think you can do this on your own without the bet if you have your mind set on it.
    Good Luck:happy:

    the bets off!
If I lost I would have had to give him a mailing for free. All that work for free!? No thanks. And since I haven't been budging for a long time, I think there's no way I could have done it.
Then he said how about lunch?
I said, I'm gonna try to lose 14 pounds and if I win you're gonna repay me with FOOD?
    Huh?, that doesn't make sense!?
In addition, I'd have to tell him how much I weigh!, that wasn't gonna happen?!
But, I really need to lose another 15-20 anyway.
    Bet or not!
