I have a Polar F6 HRM which i've had for 2.5 yrs. It is now telling me that the battery needs to be replaced. I know that the battery needs to be replaced by an authorized dealer, but when I looked on polars website it looks like they want to charge $75 to change the battery in a $100 HRM!!! WTF!!!!! Have any of you had your Polar HRM sent in? and how much did you pay?

I bought the battery at Radio Shack. You are beyond the warranty so you can do the same thing. I just took it out, took the battery in, and they gave me the matching correct one. It was a couple of dollars.0

That is an issue with Polar stuff. I know of some people changing their own. You might do an internet search.0

is there a battery in the chest strap that has to be changed also? If so, there is no way to open it0

You can take it to a watch store and they can replace it. I have the Polar watch and chest strap and they replaced both batteries for like $25 - $30
Hope this helps0 -
