Ketosis - Feeling lighter the day after carb up?!

Hey guys,
New here! Well, Ive been doing the ketogenic diet for roughly two weeks and had my first carb up. I'm aware as to why its needed. Anyone feeling lighter the next day after the carb up? views?

As long as you can adhere to this, have at it. Best of luck with carb up. Hope it helps :)

A carb up is not at all required on a ketogenic diet.

Carb-ups don't happen on a ketogenic diet. Those in ketosis stay low carb or they are no longer in ketosis. It sounds like the OP is talking about carb cycling.

    Yes, please explain...what exactly is a "carb-up?" I'm a keto-lifer and I don't have a clue what you are talking about!

why do you want to push yourself out of ketosis half way of becoming ketone adapted?

I think MAYBE what the OP referred to was on Atkins when you go from 20g net to 25g net to find your tolerance.

There is no "carb up". Too funny!

I think MAYBE the OP read someone who exercises and eats up to 150 grams of carbs pre-workout.

It does exist. I think you may need to look into CKD - Cyclical Keto Diet..

If it is intense enough of a workout, that will keep be one in ketosis. It would work.

Correct; some even shoot higher. They'd need to workout though for all the nutritional ketosis benefits. I read where some people think going in and out of ketosis can happen in a day or two. It is strange what people believe versus the people getting paid to discuss the topic(they typically state longer then 24-48 hours). Again, for the OP, hopefully they find a strategy which works.

I don't know why you would want to start depending on carbs again. It's a shallow energy reserve compared to ketones. Carb based carries a maximum reserve of 2,000 cal of available energy while the Ketone reserve runs at 20,000 calories of available energy.

Why would you want to slip back into the smaller source of energy?
