Do not let a few bad choices define you. It is one day at a time, one meal at a time.... one workout at a time and one choice at a time. Make good choices because they add up to you in the end.

You can do this....list 5 reasons why you want to be healthy.....

Make a choice. Make a decision. What do you want?

You may be restricting your diet too much. I eat chips, drink beer. I eat what I want, drink what I want, I make it fit into my daily calorie goal, I'm losing weight.

I'm 5'5", lift heavy and try to get 5 miles throughout the day walked 5-6 days a week. I eat around 2000 calories a day and am losing.

How much weight do you have to lose?
    How tall are you?
    Sorry if I missed that

I haven't yet stopped eating a single food. I have worked on my portion control and if I know I'm going to go out, then eat a bit less for the rest of my meals that day and workout a bit harder. But I also don't freak out if I go over one night as long as it's just one night - I pick up and move forward. I'm also trying to lose slowly so that I can keep eating this way for the rest of my life - that means beer and burgers, though not as much as I would (exception being this past weekend which I don't plan to do again for a while!). Forgive yourself and do the plan again now. Right now.

Either put the crisps away and go for a long walk/run or roll a rolling pin over the crisps and throw them in the trash. It's not worth it.

    You can do this!

Any time I'm tempted to go crazy on calories that I don't need or even want I ask myself, "Do you want to be the garbage can or should the garbage can be the garbage can?" I find it really helps! Then I go and workout because that always makes me feel more committed to being healthier.

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.
    -Wayne Dyer

It's about moderation not deprivation. There are no good/bad foods, only bad eating habits. Do or do not, there is no try. You have to want it, you have to work for it, you have to realize that only you can do it.

what are peoples thoughts on reducing my calorie goal for the week days and allow myself that extra 1000 calories back to indulge and enjoy at the weekends?

I think the reason I go wild at the weekends is because I make myself feel too restricted and unable to go out for dinner with friends or for drinks with my OH and then I rebel by allowing myself to have an uncontrolled binge!

    ^yeah... man depends your goals.

you want a six pack - then no - its a lifestyle

you want to be surrounded by women that would have been outta ur league only three years ago - then no - its a lifestyle

you want to be able to sprint uphill for 40 mins and be done and still be able to bar hop around town being the DD meeting more women - then no - its a lifestyle

the problem is not the food - the problem is your not busy or active enough on the weekend. I'd pick new activities to do with your friends. - this is a lifestyle bro.

if all your trying to do is get half-butt results then do the 1000 calorie idea.

It sounds stupid but what I did to get my butt in gear when I hit 245 was when I snacked, I had to sit on the floor and stare at myself in the mirror while I ate my Doritos. It did not even take me a week to absolutely hate them... It sounds crazy but it was effective, it made me hate the idea of junk food. Now 200 days later i'm down over 90 pounds and gaining weight back in muscle! It really changed my life, all in a week. I feel better than ever and now I understand that "Do I want my abs or those doritos?" Its a pretty obvious choice now.

Doesn't sound stupid, I had the same exact thing and I still replay it in my mind whenever I feel the urge to just LOSE IT & eat just to do it. I had a can of pringles and I was walking past a full length mirror, I stopped walked back and just stood and stared like THESE F!ing chips are NOT worth this feeling I feel. Anytime for awhile when I wanted to just snack for the hell of it, I made myself walk to the mirror and stare while I did it. It wasn't long before I didn't need that mirror because the idea of junk just made me MAD! It wasn't good enough for the trade of bad feelings seeing a body I didn't like.

I have days where I overeat all the time. Friday was a huge calorie day for me. I probably drank at least 1200 calories. Relax. Unless it becomes a habit, it isn't a big deal.

I have been there for MONTHS and am so mad at myself. Get someone in it with you. Take a picture of yourself. Get all that stuff out of your cabinets and fridge. Go to the store, look at recipes, articles, wherever you can find food that's good for you that you'll enjoy. You can do it!

Honestly, if you are at least getting out and walking 30 minutes a day, that will help curb the binge cravings, even on the weekends. I don't know what you are allowing for your calorie count each day, but even when I go out with friends on the weekend, I find that the meals I order, are barely above the calorie count of the meals I have at home and they are more filling. Even Buffalo Wild Wings does well for staying close to calorie counts. What is killing you the most is the drinking....the calories in that alone are off the chart. If you have to take in more calories than you should for the day, do it with food and stay away from the booze. You will feel better all around.
