what are the units in the food summary section...? grams or oz.? can they be changed? The reason I am asking is that I need to be getting around 150 grams of protein a day and the conversion to Oz. is not adding up correctly.

thx,

Sorry if I'm misundertanding you but I think you're trying to convert something that can't be converted that way...

The macros (carbs, protein, fat) are in grams. But they're not the same as weighed grams...you can't really convert the # of protein grams to a number of ounces of food because different foods are going to have different amounts of protein in them.

100g of something is going to weigh about 3.5 ounces

However, you can't say that having 3.5 ounces of pork, chicken, beef, egg, cheese, etc is going to provide 100g of protein because those foods include other things.

100g/3.5oz of center cut pork chop has about 20g of protein
100g (about 2 large) eggs has 12-13g of protein
100g/3.5oz of boneless skinless chicken breast has about 22g of protein
100g/3.5oz of top sirloin (trimmed of most fat) has about 20g of protein

thank you. I was looking at the protein amount in Lean Turkey patties and it said 11grams, I then weighed one patty and it came up 50 grams on the scale. But as you mentioned that is not all protein.

hmmm..ok got to rethink this...thanks for the link
