i injured myself training , it still swells up especially in the morning although the pain has gone a lot down the swelling is such a pain to live with and comes up randomly.its so frustrating.my father who is a retired doctor takes lasix (furosemide)pills for his ankles.without his consent i took some to help with the swelling and it has helped a lot.i know i shouldnt do this without a prescription.my question is is it ok to take them to help with swelling.i did this out of desperation because the swelling was making it so hard to train.i just want to make sure that it will not have any permanent adverse affects.
thank you

Presuming I read that correctly
Listen to your body. Rest your injury, don't train on it! If you're desperate find something to do that doesn't involve that muscle group/limb/w/e.0 -

No! Stop training with an injury....0 -
or, you could go see a doctor and ask him/her about the medication, and using it in conjunction with training and see if he/she will give you a legit prescription.0

You don't take someone else's prescription diruetics for an INJURY!!! Your father's ankles swell for a completely different reason than your injury is swelling. You need to rest, ice, compress and elevate. Oh, and tell your dad you took some of his pills so he can get his refill adjusted.0

Bad idea. Yes it's approved for treatment of edema (swelling) but it's primarily indicated as a heart medication. So I would absolutely NOT continue taking it without speaking to a doctor first. Your ankle feeling better is 100% not worth future heart complications.0

Your dad's the one with a medical degree. I think you should own up about swiping his pills and get a recommendation on how to reduce the swelling from him rather than a bunch of randoms on the internet.0
