It's been one month and this is my first message.

Hi everyone,
I joined myfitnesspal last month and this is my first post. A few things about me. I am a die hard WVU MOUNTAINEER fan. I love to do genealogy. I like to travel. I love music and enjoy doing crafty things, however I don't give myself a lot of time for that. I have tracked everything I have ate for the last month and I am down 12.5 pounds. I only have 112.5 more to go. I have used hypothyroidism as an excuse and a crutch for being overweight. I have decided to get real. I will do this, so if you want to chat with me, I can use all the help I can get!! GO ME!!:flowerforyou:

Isn't that the truth?I have to put excuses behind me. This is all about me now and who I want to be. Looking forward to this journey even though I know it is going to be hard. This is the first day I feel like I could munch on things, maybe cuz I am home today and have a lot of cleaning that needs to be done. I stick to fruit but the idea gets stuck in my head and I know I could falter. But I won't!!!

First, congratulations on the weight loss. I know it's not easy. Second, I can relate to issues of thyroid, hormones, etc. I had an adrenal tumor which caused hyperaldosteronism. It pretty much screwed with everything to include energy, memory, mood, balance, blood pressure. Once that was removed I did feel better, but it's still not easy to motivate and change those sedentary habits. Shortly before Thanksgiving last year I lost my brother, 55, to a heart attack. That was my wake up call to get off my butt and do more for my own health so I can be here for myself and my family.
