I started the SL 5X5 last friday and I'm wondering if I should expect a weight gain?

Maybe. Pretty much anytime you change/increase your workout, you may see a slight gain or stall in your weight loss. This is due to water and glycogen retention in the muscles which is part of the natural healing process. Once your body adjusts to the new routine, this will lessen. But you may want to start taking body measurements and progress pictures if you haven't already as these will likely be a better measurement of success/progress.
For instance, check out Staci's story at the link below. She's technically at a higher weight but her body looks much better. The scale is not always the best way to judge how you're doing.
