Reset workout goals???

When I started on 6/5, I set my workout goals to 5 days/week at 30 minutes. My calorie base was 1550. I just reset my goal to 5 days/week at 60 minutes because that is what I have started doing. My calorie base went down to 1490. Which is cool, I eat right at that amount anyway and never eat my added calories for workouts. I'm just a little confused as to why it went down. Open for info.

Did you update your weight at the same time? If you did it was recalculated based on your new weight. If you didn't then I don't have any ideas, I am not too informed about this stuff.

I have no idea but I do know after every 10-15lbs or so my calories gets lowered, My exercise is set very low and I have not updated it 12 mins/ day 3 days a week. I get more in now though, but didn't update because only weight loss seem to affect my calorie allotment. I started at 330 with 1920 calories a day, I am at 302/1690 cals. Also if you adjust how much weight/week you want to lose your calories go up or down accordingly.

I don't know. The only thing I changed was my workout goals. I was just curious as to why the change but it's all good. Thanks for replying.

That's a very low calorie goal for that amount of exercise (and you should eat back at least half of those BTW). I'm 189lbs, 5'6", 42 years old and work out for what averages out at around 1hr a day 7 days a week but I also have a desk job (I do try to get a short walk in at lunch when there's time). I'm burning around 2800cals a day and eating around 2000 on average. Have you checked what your BMR and estimated TDEE is? Here will give you an idea http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ and you should really be aiming to eat a minimum of your BMR each day (and that's net ie calories eaten - calories burned = BMR+ )

How do I calculate how much protein, carbs and fat I am eating? I went to the link you provided *thank you* and it says at 35% protein, 45% carbs and 20% fat I should be eating 1857 BMR and 2879 TDEE. with goal of 25% fat reduction 2169 calories. That is if I calculated correctly. It is all so confusing to me. I am fighting to get in the calories I do eat because I don't start eating for at least a couple of hours after I wake.

I'm still curious as to why my MFP calorie goal went from 1550 down to 1490 just because I adjusted my exercise goal from 5x week at 30 minutes to 5x week at 60 minutes. I am so totally confused. And if it is true that I am not eating enough..oh my, where am I gonna put any more. I had a 10 pound loss the first week which I know is a high number but I think that was a lot of water weight. I weigh in tomorrow and I highly doubt it will be that drastic a loss this time. I'll just try to keep plugging along and see how it goes. If I lose around 2 pounds a week that is fine with me. I don't want to lose to drastically cuz I will have a LOT of lose skin if I do that. My main goal, however, is to be healthy and not make myself sick by trying to lose too much too fast.
