Hey everyone!
I really need help! I have been on a journey for toning my body and getting rid of belly fat for about 2 years now.
I have finished Jillian Michaels ripped in 30, Jillian Michaels Kick box, Jilliam Michaels killer abs, Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack, supreme 90 day, and also did some pilates. I STILL have belly fat!): i lost about 2-3 inches but i keep loosing and gaining those inches..
I drink 8-10 glasses of water and i do eat a little bit of junk food but not every day. My calorie intake is usually 1500-1800. Many people have been recommending me insanity and P90X3. I have heard great things about both of them, but I want to know which tackles belly fat the most.
My current weight: 140
My goal weight:preferably 120-125 (but I'm trying to tone so not really worried about loosing)
Height: 5'10
Waist: 34 inches
Hips:38
Any help or words of advice or suggestions will be great!!
I have a reunion coming up in August and I want to look my best!
Thanks so much y'all!!

Are any of those heavy weight lifting routines that would do anything to shape your body or are they all just cardio cardio cardio?0 -
They are all circuit routines so they have cardio, strength training, and a little bit of ab workouts mixed in.0

If your goal is a flat stomach and you don't have that much fat to lose you might want to consider switching from circuit training style weight lifting which is more cardio-based and do something more like stronglifts or a hypertrophy program for muscle building with barbells or at least heavy dumbbells. Something that will add muscle and sculpt a bit. You'd want to switch from caloric deficit to caloric surplus or at least maintenance for that so most likely eating over 2000+ cals a day.
If you keep up the cardio and circuit training and caloric deficit over time you will lose more fat and you will get smaller but your appearance might just be that of a smaller version of what you currently have. Its possible that losing more fat will give you a flat stomach if you already have a good amount of muscle, but if you lack the muscle you are going to have to build that up and doing crunches at caloric deficit isn't going to do that for you. If you are 5'10'' and you view 120 pounds as an achievable amount I'm going to assume you don't have much muscle right now (no offense).
Usmcp has a great post on this.

My understanding of things like P90X and insanity are they are fat burning programs not really muscle building programs, especially under caloric deficit. The resistance training they have has basically no rest and one set per move so you are forced to use lower weight and get more of a heart-thumping cardio workout than a muscle building workout.0 -
P90X3 has more actual strength/resistance workouts, whereas Insanity is mainly cardio...
having said that, you're 5ft10 and want to be 120lbs? I'm 5ft5 and dont think i could get to 120lbs without looking ill... i would suggest ditching the scales and just working on losing a little bodyfat.0 -

Or actually gaining a little weight in the form of muscle. Appearance and weight don't have as much to do with another as people are lead to believe. You can look far slimmer and flatten your belly while ending up weighing more than you do now at 5'10''
I still have a good amount of fat to lose myself so I'm actually currently doing P90X. It has a lot of resistance training true, but it is circuit style and gets your heart racing in such a way that you can't really push a lot of weight. I view it as almost cardio in that way and when I actually want to put on muscle I will be switching to something else. I don't know P90X3 but I assume it is similar.0 -
Both P90X3 and Insanity are great programs that work (when paired with proper nutrition of course). P90X3 is about all-around functional fitness. There is strength training, agility, intense cardio, plyometrics, yoga, and pilates. Insanity is all about cardio endurance and high intensity interval training. What is best for you really comes down to your goals. Getting that flat tummy requires you to get your body fat % down to where that will happen, which requires consistent exercise and proper nutrition/calorie and macro goals.

Hi Angel,
I'm currently doing Insanity and experiencing great results, so I highly recommend it.
It's extremely tough and you will need to be dedicated to stick with a 40 - 45 minute workout 6 days per week, but it's worth it.
PS. Friend request sent.
Kind regards,

I am not trying to loose weight, but a little weight loss would be good. I just want to loose the belly and yeah I have to loose body fat.
Thanks Aaron I will definitely check this post out!
I am going to start lifting more weights! I just hope it works because I literally have been getting no where for the past two years.
Thank you everyone for all the great information, but I still would like to know which one would be best in helping me loose the body fat. I did quiet a bit of research on both of them, but I still don't know...0 -
I've done Insanity, its pretty tough & got pretty good results.. but honestly i got a much more toned stomach with t25. Not just my tummy, but legs and arms too. And the workouts are much shorter. Just don't skip gamma!
And p90x3 i plan to start tomorrow really . I just need to find the nutrition guide in pdf, so if anyone has it, it'll be nice if u share.0
