*sigh* lowered my daily goal

My weight loss has slowed down... actually plataued. So I lowered my daily goal by 150 cal. Since I cannot run due to mysterious joint pain, this is going to be tough. I lift 3-4x a week but my strength has plataued as well - maybe that was it for the newbie gain that I can get on a deficit? So, another 10lbs until maintenance! I am trying to embrace this now but I find it tough. I think I am tired of counting right now and a tighter deficit does not actually motivate me.
If only I could run! I am SO motivated to run but a my knees are hurting badly whenever I do since a stomach bug 2 weeks ago. Weird!

So, I guess I am here searching for some motivation...

Have you tried the elliptical or just walking to help boost your calorie burn? I can't run either being limited to low impact exercise. Just find what you can do and enjoy.

are you weighing solids and measuring liquids?

How long have you been plateaud? If less than 4 weeks you are not in a plateau...if it's been more than 4 weeks you are eating more than you think and/or over estimating burns.

What is your weekly weight loss goal at?

How many calories are you logging?

That's hard. Have you considered something like swimming or cycling to ease the stress on your joints? Also, how old are your trainers? Maybe they've lost their cushioning.
Try and stretch those calories with lots of water, fruit and veg. Hang in there.

    1) Depending on the nature of your stomach bug, it might be your immune system attacking your joints (rheumatoid arthritis), you should go to a doctor and get that checked out. I have been sick and felt very achey in my joints for weeks afterwards, but never what I would describe as "pain".

    2) I have plateaued and had to lower my goals and felt a little defeated; however, when I started losing again, and my body had adjusted it was all worth it. And I lost more than I was supposed to as my body adjusted to more calories. *Note, I was in the middle of triathlon training and was working out 6 days per week.

    3) Have you tried cycling or swimming? Swimming is not nearly as calorie burning, but I still love it. Cycling will burn about as many calories per hour as running and you still have relatively easy access to races, if you are into the competition aspect. The culture of the racers is a bit different, but still a very supportive community and a lot of fun.

Arthritis - yeah, I have googled that too. What keeps me from seeing the doc is that I have 5 kids in tow wherever I go. I have been in denial.... But maybe I should go!

I have been cycling (have no access to a body of water I could swim in) but I don't enjoy it. I do it to get some cardio in but I have to make myself go. Running is different - before my stomach thing my first thought when I woke up was "yeay, it is a run day!"

Thw best possible outcome is that I can wrap my head around my new goal, my joints can be treated easily and I can run soon and be lighter then.
