I have never really been into the social media before. I found the people here are always amusing, and they have a positive outlook! I log in to help keep on track with my own goals, I enjoy doing it because the friends I have here make my day a little better! I like that i get little tidbits from folks all over the globe. And they support me, but never ask me for favors!

I wouldn't say I like it over the others. MFP is specific and goal oriented. FB and LI are also valuable to me in their own way. I really don't see much cross over.

My only complaint with MFP is this chit chat forum. I am happy to reply to this rare and legitimate question. Most of the threads just suck. Just looking at the topics, like what would you say to person above you part 97, makes me eye roll. If Reddit is the front page of the internet, MFP chit chat must be the last.

So thanks for starting a good thread.

I did used to FB.. now I just look... it's played out for me... I told my 28 y.o. daughter...you dont have to post every fart on FB. I literally knew everything going on in her life through FB. I told my mom (who is addicted to FB) that she has made "facebooking" an active VERB ! Geez.. what a time waster

I found a bunch of smart, funny, perverted friends here with common goals. Thats what makes mfp awesome for me.
    ^this..

But truly the common goals are what's terrific over any other social media. Can't remember the last time I FB'd, et al... Love sharing the struggles and successes with my MFPeeps! :flowerforyou:

No one in my RL knows me here.

    This. So much this.

I don't post much on FB anymore, and when I do it's for work stuff.

I can access it at work.

And, my friends, family and co-workers can see what I post on FB so it is very reserved.

I could care less what strangers thing about my posts.

And FB doesn't give you tips to lose fat rolls.

Ditto! Love how many smart, funny people are here just being themselves.

Many of the threads are as unproductive as FB, but with better gifs.

FB is dumb and full of political rants and pointless pictures/statuses/whatevs that I find no relation to. Plus there's always the kind of people who are filtering everything to make themselves look high and mighty.

MFP on the other hand is full of strong, dedicated people who share similar interests with me. And I can show muh booty without getting the judgmental comments saying I'm showing too much skin or some crap like that.

Posting workouts and diet would annoy most of the people in my other social networks.

I like the anonymity of MFP...sometimes it is ease to open up to strangers, because they are less likely to judge you, and if they do, what do you care, they're strangers.

I also like the accountability...and support. I admit I feel a little guilty if I miss a workout, or eat things I shouldn't, and i am less likely to do either if I think someone is going to call me out on it...not that my friends here have ever been anything but supportive.

Plus I would never post the pictures of myself that I've put up here on Facebook. Much to embarrassing to have people I know in real life to see me this way.
