First weigh in after my first week

I started MFP a week ago. I have been mostly good, but had a hard time to reach my 1200 cal, but most days I was under, was due to some kind of cardio. The problem I had and still have is night cravings and eating. But again, I've been good most times.

I started at 165.3 pounds (75 kg) and very shortly went to 73.5 kg (162 pounds) and this morning, before I had breakfast, I was on 71.8 kg (158.3 pounds). It's so hard to believe it as I can't see the result on me. Or I don't think I can. I also realized that I've been so unhappy about it for so long, that I find it hard to be happy. My brain is telling me I should, but I am not...yet.

I have to start some strength exercise to get rid of my floppy belly and just generally tone up. Anyway, I had to share it with someone, so here it is...

Thank you all for your support.

  • That's a great start! It took me a while to notice the difference too. As the first thing to go was around my face and shoulders which doesn't have the same affect as your trousers falling down because they're too big lol. But you'll notice it soon enough trust me
Don't worry about it, it will go. Be proud that you're making the effort to change for yourself and you'll soon be happy and confident about yourself.
    Keep up the good work.

In the first week or so you usually lose a lot of water which shows on the scale fast. On occasion you can also retain a lot of water which also shows on the scale quickly. The initial fast dropping will quickly settle down to a more reasonable pace. Don't be freaked by the fluctuations. Quick and drastic changes in weight are usually just water. Keep doing what you are doing and you'll start seeing changes pretty soon. Just not in a week or two. Unfortunately it's a slow process..

That's a great start!. Keep in mind that most of the weight you lose in the first couple of weeks is water weight. You probably won't see a difference for a month or more. Just keep at it and before you know it, you'll be feeling all cute and energetic. :)
