I am getting married in two and half week i have lost biggest part of two stone but this final stone will not move
i am exercising 5 mornings a week and working on my allotment of an evening
my morning exercise is currently 20 mins on a powerplate (flabelos) and 30 mins power walking on a gradual increasing incline to 15 as i get better i hit the incline 15 sooner etc
my diet is currently ( i try and keep it carb free as in potato and bread rice and pasta)
porridge in the morning with skimmed milk
lunch is either a healthy home made soup ( cup off) a salad or chicken skinned my tea is fish and veg all steamed if i snack mid morning and afternoon i have fruit ..............................what am i doing wrong ?????
i dropped the porridge as i was advised its high in carb so i now have forest fruits with a muller light yoghurt
i was talking to someone today ( a gym instructor) who said drop the fruit full of sugar instead have low fat greek yoghurt and seeds or nuts i looks for them tonight and they are exceptionally high in carb the seeds and nuts
i cant seem to win keep the fat down its high in sugar if not sugar its carb
i am at a loss on how to move forward
i try and keep the fat below 5% which bit of the carb do i count is it the bit that saturates ???? and what about the sugars ???
i am trying to do a diet i can maintain ie herbalife its protein drinks start eating it goes back on atkins is the same slimming world i lost a stone i have done better doing my own diet /exercise regime
i dont want to undo what i have done by eating seeds nuts etc and scrapping the fruit
i am aware through the excercise i may not show a loss but the same guy said to me today power walking on the treadmill wont work now you will put weight on surely my heart racing and the sweating i do is doing somethign or am i really losing the plot
all help and advice welcome
thank you in advance and sooooooooooooo much

Okay reality check time, you are getting married in 2 weeks. My honest advice is this. Put the diet down, put the exercise routine down. Breath. Relax. If there is exercise you actually enjoy and you find relaxing you can continue to do that. If there are parts of your diet you enjoy you can continue to do that. But for the next 2 weeks, do stress-free things you enjoy and breath.
What would you rather be at your wedding:
A) A total stressball, dehydrated, tired, hangry and a completely unnoticeable 2 pounds lighter
Relaxed, comfortable, hydrated, satiated and the weight you are now.0 -

^^I agree 100%. Get the dress altered if you need to, but right now you don't need to be adding any more stress than is necessary.
I would also question why you're keeping your fat below 5% right now. Fats help to keep your skin, hair and nails looking good.0 -
Agree with diannethegeek and Aaron. Relax and enjoy your wedding. Your soon-to-be husband/wife loves you regardless. There is no quick fix to this, It's a lifestyle change that you must make and 2 weeks isn't enough time to change these habits. If you do lose some fast weight in 2 weeks, I guarantee it will be temporary. The quicker you lose it, the quicker you put it back on.0

When's your final dress fitting?0
-
Ditto everyone else. Your wedding will be perfect, no matter what size you are - because it's about the commitment you're making to the person you love.
Just try to relax and enjoy yourself.0 -
Love yourself, love your spouse, and enjoy your wedding day. You will look beautiful!0

Congrats on your wedding do you think stressing over this is to take away wedding stress? I bet you will look gorgeous with or without an extra stone off, you don't want to be ill on your wedding day there are some fab tummy control under dress stuff that doesn't have to look like bridget jones id invest in those and enjoy your build up to your special day. You can diet the rest of your life and stress about 1 stone your only going to do this once enjoy it x0

Ann relax as the above posters said. After the wedding restart your diet. Fat is good for you and eating it does not make you fat. Make sure you are eating enough to sustain your exercise choices, in other words eat back your exercise calories and adjust based on how much you are losing or gaining.0

I agree with the others, this is a time to relax and maintain.
However, to say it bluntly, you are not going to lose a stone in 2 weeks. There is no way, there is no how. Unless you go for liposuction or a tummy tuck or something, which I would not recommend in any circumstances but certainly not with only a 2 week recovery period to work with.
The most anyone could reasonably hope to lose in 2 weeks (other than the grotesquely obese, which I can tell you're not) is 4 pounds or between 1/3 and 1/4 of a stone. Unless you are very short, no one is going to be able to tell the difference between 4 pounds anyway (and that's if you could lose 4 pounds, which I don't think you will). You are going to look like you do now at your wedding. Sorry, but truth. So you can keep killing yourself for absolutely no reason, or you can accept the reality and mellow the heck out.
Congrats on your wedding.0 -
Thank you everybody yes I agree I should put everything down and maybe try and maintain
ok after the big day the honeymoon etc what is the advice for moving forward please
I have always been advised to keep the fat content below 5% nothing too high in carbs etc etc
some diets say eat plenty of fruit others say stay clear of fruit coz of all the sugars i am soooooooooo confused
i have become obsessed at looking at the carb content the fat content its driving me insane
i start what i think is a healthy eating plan then another person/gym instructor/dietician tells you different
the only part of my diet I seem to get right is the fish and veg
what exactyl should I be looking at on the fat intake the carb intake the sugars etc etc even the calories
In a nutshell i am 50 5'9" was size 12/14 now 14/16 was slightly larger as I gave up smoking and piled weight on my current weight is 12stone 10 I would love to get back to my 11 stone 10 whilst I know i dont have the age on my side I am currently not happy at the weight I am now whilst I am happy i quit the *kitten* i am devastated over the weight gain :-/0 -

First Congrats on the wedding, enjoy you and your new spouses day!
2nd sugar is a carb.... these are the basics, when you get settled after the honeymoon.......
*Log EVERYTHING
*Weigh Solids
*Measure liquids
*Exercise for fitness
(weight lifting is my recommendation)
*Be Honest with Yourself
*Measure yourself, take silly pictures and then enjoy your progress.
And............

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal0 -
Ann, you can't do low-fat AND low-carb!
But as the others have said, you're putting unneccesary stress on yourslef in teh run up to your wedding.
Hope the day goes well, and se you after the honeymoon!0 -
Trying to keep the percent intake of fat down to 5% is A) unhealthy and going to drive you insane as I imagine it is very hard if not impossible to hit that target.
There is zero reason to do that and I don't know where you got that from but its very wrong. Your fat intake should be at 30% of your dietary calories from fats, 20% at the bare minimum and only if your calorie intake is large enough that you are still getting 40+ grams of fat.
Fruit is basically sugar plus some vitamins and a little bit of fiber but there is nothing wrong with sugar, eat it if you want to eat it but there is nothing magical about fruit in my opinion.0 -
I agree with everyone telling you not to stress but honestly the weight probably won't move because your rabidly low fat diet has your hormones out of whack. Honestly it really isn't healthy to abstain from any one macro nutrient. Some low carb or low fat diets may produce short term results. But long term they tend to have people running into plateaus in a big way as their body processes begin to break down. And often have them regaining the weight quickly once those processes recover. There is really no way to cheat genuine healthy weight loss. It just has to take the time it takes. Believe me I wish that wasn't the case. My goal is to lose 115lb's or so and even at that weight I may decide to drop another stone if I'm not happy with where i am.
A diet THAT low in fat will probably make for a disappointing wedding "night" too.
Just saying.0 -
