It was two years ago today I joined MFP

Hello everyone,

Yes, today is my second anniversary with MFP! I joined MFP not to loose weight but to document that I was not eating enough to weigh what I did and to get my health plan to pay for a new thyroid test. I was convinced that it was my thyroid and not what I was putting in my mouth!

By 12/31/2008 I was convinced it was what I was eating and started my diet on 1/3/2009. I hope to be at my original goal by 1/5/2011 (two years from when I started eating differently.

Many thanks to MFP developers and all of you who have shared your recipes, exercise tips, support and motivations. Without MFP I doubt I'd have been successful.

Thanks,

Jeannie (JAM)

(I am not sure why it says I joined Jan 2009. I know it was 11/2008)

    I love the Y!
  • Congratulations on your anniversary and weight loss!

Funny, I was thinking that through documenting my eating, I would find a reason for all of my "hunger headaches". Since starting MFP I somehow haven't had even one! I see now they are all related to my monthly cycle.

  • Oh Good Job!!!!!

I joined last July and I think I've logged on every single day since. :D I am an addict. I thought that I couldn't lose weight because of my age and because of my job and because of my family. :D But from the very first week tracking and moving have made me see that the root reason that I could not lose weight was just plain old me.

My trainer told me this one simple truth. Eat less calories than you burn and you will lose weight. She was right! And this site is priceless in tracking to make sure that I am doing it right.

    Congrats on your success!

    Jeannie,

What a wonderful day for you! I, also, have discovered many things about my body since starting this journey. It is amazing how we tend to hold on to old ideas and not give chances to new ones! MFP has been an awesome tool, as well as an eye opener!

Congratulations on your awesome journey!! Here's to your continued success! :)
