I'm looking for somebody to be a buddy, motivator and also to give me some guidance in using resistance bands or common household items to start strength training for the next 6 weeks.
We are preparing to move out of state and I've canceled my gym membership. I don't want to go buy weights because I will have the military gym available to me free once I start working in August.
I just purchased a set or resistance tube bands. I'd like to start out using these. I could maybe also use some tomato cans or canning jars, something from the garage like heavy tools.
I had two major knee surgeries this year and some other physical problems which will require me to go slow but not keep me from working out.
My goals-gain the strength I need for technical diving ( two scuba tanks on back plus 1-3 tanks for decompression or extra gas), which will make my gear weigh more than my goal weight! I will need to be able to haul myself up and down a few steps to get to the dock or spring and out of the water. In most conditions I could take tanks off in the water, except in rough seas. But, I still need to lug gear around, including two tanks fused together with a steel backplate, heavy lights and as many weights as is required to keep me down for decompression.
My other goal-I fox hunt. I will need to be able to ride posting trot and standing at a gallop or over jumps for 2-4 hours at a time.
