When people say "a calorie is a calorie" or "all calories are equal" they're talking about for the purposes of measuring energy (which is what a calorie is) or about losing weight. They do not mean that anything you eat will provide the same satiety or nutrition.
You're arguing against an argument that doesn't really exist.
Or if it does, then yeah those people are wrong. But I've never seen that argument presented in 3 years of hanging out on this site.

I think what you're really trying to say is that not all macros are equal. For the most part, people agree with that statement.
Both days you provided your body with approximately the same amount of energy (calories), but the macro breakdown was different. For most people, meals higher in protein and fiber leave them feeling fuller longer than meals higher in carbohydrates.

Quit saying your apple is an apple, when really you're talking about oranges, OP.
Of course eating less calorie dense food, with a giant difference in macronutrients will change your satiety depending on the contents, but when talking about actual calories, a calorie being the approximate amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius, then yes, all calories are equal. That's like saying all inches aren't the same, all ounces aren't the same.
Your words say you're debating a unit of measurement, when really you mean something else entirely.

Here's my analogy of these threads.
Your daily calorie allotment = a school bus
Proteins = small children Carbs = average children Fats = fat children
From there you can probably guess where I'm going. If you take a bunch of small children the bus can carry more kids. If you take heavier kids you can fit less of them.
But guess what, a bus is still a bus. It just depends on how you fill it.

Here's my analogy of these threads.
Your daily calorie allotment = a school bus
Proteins = small children Carbs = average children Fats = fat children
From there you can probably guess where I'm going. If you take a bunch of small children the bus can carry more kids. If you take heavier kids you can fit less of them.
But guess what, a bus is still a bus. It just depends on how you fill it.
